FRANK'S VIDEO CLIPS
I've got a lot of pretty darn good video.
(I'm the geek who had his video camera everywhere.) I can't put
it all on the web, but I'm going to put what I think is a
pretty good amount for everyone to enjoy and reminisce
with, or to see something you missed on-board...but please read this entire page:
Video files are large, and unfortunately, bandwidth isn't
free (for me to serve it to you)....so:
-
Sorry, but after a lot of experimentation with Windows Media encoder, I've decided to not use it because I get the
best balance of video and audio quality with the smallest
file size using RealVideo encoding. That means you
must have "RealPlayer" in order to play the video clips.
You can download a free version here:
www.real.com/freeplayer/?rppr=rnwk
(once I'm completely over the
flu, I may play with window media format some more, but
don't get your hopes up)
-
If you have a
dial-up internet connection, you will not be able to
play these without downloading and saving them to your computer first,
which will take you forever because these are all big.
All of the videos are encoded at 256 Kbps or higher. If there is a demand for low-quality,
56 Kbps dial-up versions, I
can create them, but they won't be very good. If you
want to request that,
-
If you see a video
that you think you'll want to watch more than once, all I
ask is that you please right-click on the
file link and "save
target as" to save it to your computer so it doesn't have
to get downloaded repeatedly. This saves you time and
me bandwidth. Thank you.
-
VERY IMPORTANT: To guard against automated programs that
"harvest" video files, which would consume a lot of my
bandwidth, I've password-protected the location containing
the videos. When you click on the video links below,
you'll be prompted for a login name & password.
Simply use
rockboat &
elation06
as the name &
password.
Hint: If you don't exit RealPlayer when done watching a video, it
won't ask you for a name and password for subsequent
videos.
-
And as a final note, If I get too much
traffic, to the point where all my bandwidth for the month
has become exhausted, I may have to shut down the videos. I do not anticipate that happening...but if it
does, it will be back the following month (or sooner), I
promise.
